Local Development Framework Core Strategy

SDDC Core Strategy PUA Alternatives - Click to Enlarge

South Derbyshire District Council is preparing its Local Development Framework (LDF) Core Strategy which will guide how and where most types of development in the area will take place up to 2026.

To assist this it has drawn up a range of alternative “options” to be considered and commented upon. These options set out the main alternative ways that South Derbyshire District Council might go about planning for the future housing, employment and other growth needs of South Derbyshire over the next 20 years or so.

South Derbyshire District Council request people to visit its website http://www.south-derbys.gov.uk (the option to view the LDF is at the top of their home page) as all the relevant documents are available to view, plus there is a facility to register and submit comments.

Clicking the image to the left will take you directly to the Local Development Framework Consulatation System page on South Derbyshire District Council’s website, where you can view the “Core Strategy – Issues and Alternative Options” document and submit your comments.  However, it is also possible to see the documents at the Council offices during normal working hours or in any public libraries in South Derbyshire and in neighbouring areas plus Willington and Chellaston Post Offices.

The District Council has stated that it will use all responses it receives to help it decide which options should form the basis of the draft Core Strategy that will be submitted to the Secretary of State and if necessary a public examination will be held into the Core Strategy’s “soundness” before it is formerly adopted in the autumn of 2011.
